  • Being prosperous doesn’t mean that a country is not committing human rights violations, or that a large number of people aren’t suffering. 
  • Their ‘prosperity’ is at the cost of:
    • Uyghur forced labor. Section 6.4 ‘Camp to labour’ (link 1)
    • The destruction of Uyghur culture and religion (link 2)
      • “approximately 16,000 mosques in Xinjiang (65% of the total) have been destroyed or damaged as a result of government policies” (link 2, page 3)
    • Extensive surveillance (link 3)
  • Is that what they really want to call ‘prosperity’?
